Construction firm ‘not to blame’ for sunlight issues at AT&T Stadium

The firm that constructed AT&T Stadium has insisted it is not to blame for the blinding levels of sunlight seeping through the arena during NFL American football matches.

The stadium, which is the home of the Dallas Cowboys, came in for criticism on Sunday during the team’s first game of the season. The game against the New York Giants kicked off at 3.25pm local time and, as the sun set during the fourth quarter, some players had their view hampered by the blinding light.

According to construction firm HKS, the long-term plan has always been for the area surrounding the venue to be built up, which would result in sunset times no longer being an issue.

The stadium, which opened in 2009, has a retractable roof that currently allows sunlight to seep through.
