Swansea City looking to hire disability access officer

Premier League football club Swansea City is recruiting a disability access officer to oversee accessibility across all areas of its business operations.

The candidate will supervise match-day hospitality, digital, retail, ticketing and safeguarding as it pertains to accessibility.

The club released a statement to hire an applicant that has experience working in a similar role, ideally within football or a similar sporting organisation, while also having comprehensive knowledge of the Equality Act 2010.

General duties will include liaising with stadium management staff to ensure disabled guests are supported across all departments, while reacting to any comments or complaints from visitors.

In addition, the new disability access officer will work closely with the club’s media and communications team, as well as external agencies, to ensure the website meets standard guidelines.

Another responsibility of the role will include advising and consulting with architects, surveyors, developers, designers, contractors and health and safety personnel to act on behalf of those with disabled access needs.

The vacancy for the role at the Liberty Stadium closes on June 18, with applicants being asked to contact the Swansea human resources department if they are interested.
