The Madison Square Garden Company has entered into a new partnership with ridesharing company Lyft.

Under the deal, Lyft will serve as the official rideshare partner of the New York arena.

Lyft will enjoy significant brand exposure at the venue during the home games of various sport teams that play at the arena. Madison Square Garden is home to NBA basketball franchise the New York Knicks and NHL ice hockey team the New York Rangers, and Lyft will receive promotion at all home games.

This will include in-arena LED signage, IPTV inside Madison Square Garden, featured messaging on ‘GardenVision’ and promotional spots on the venue’s iconic 7th Avenue marquee.

In addition, fans that use Lyft to travel to and from games at Madison Square Garden will benefit from special discounts.

Ron Skotarczak, executive vice-president, marketing partnerships at the Madison Square Garden Company, said: “Lyft shares our commitment to help improve the customer experience by offering and providing transportation to and from our events.”

Vipul Patel, general manager of Lyft New York City, added: “Partnering with Madison Square Garden was a natural extension of our commitment to New Yorkers and made perfect sense after it was named a 2017 Lyftie Award winner, honouring the event venue in New York City that Lyft passengers travelled to most.

“We look forward to continuing to strengthen our ties with MSG patrons and New Yorkers alike, and provide a convenient and affordable option to get around.”
