Technology solutions provider Spectrum Enterprise has entered into a partnership with Major League Soccer franchise Orlando City’s recently-opened new stadium.
Spectrum Enterprise will provide managed Wi-Fi, fiber internet access and hosted voice services at Orlando City Stadium, which hosted its first MLS game last Sunday.
It is hoped the partnership will enhance the fan experience at the 25,500-capacity stadium, which also serves as the home of National Women’s Soccer League team Orlando Pride.
Under the agreement, Spectrum Enterprise will provide scalable, end-to-end Wi-Fi services throughout the stadium to make it easier for fans to share their match experience via social media. Spectrum Enterprise’s service will also enable efficient access and reliable ticketing through smartphones or other connected devices.
The company’s service will also provide access to Orlando City’s new LionNation mobile application, which enables live check-ins, sharing and discounts through a points system accumulated from ticket, concession and memorabilia purchases within the stadium.
In addition, Spectrum Enterprise’s cloud-based hosted voice service will allow for easier communication between the stadium’s employees.
“Across all major sports and every geography, fans demand a more connected experience, wanting to be present in the moment, while, at the same time, maintaining access to the digital world,” Satya Parimi, group vice-president, data and cloud products at Spectrum Enterprise, said.
“Orlando City Stadium will serve as a model for other arenas where high capacity fiber internet and an end to end managed Wi-Fi infrastructure can eliminate bandwidth and connectivity issues previously associated with game day. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
Orlando City’s chief information officer Renato Reis added: “We want every one of our fans to have an unforgettable experience every time they come to watch one of our teams on their home turf.
“Spectrum Enterprise’s strong presence throughout central Florida and proven track record of successfully executing large-scale deployments make them the ideal partner to help us achieve this goal for the 2017 season and beyond.”
