Arena Group acquires Wernick Events

Events specialist Arena Group has acquired the seating and mass participation sector of Coventry-based Wernick Events, rebranding the division as Arena Seating.

As part of Arena’s ongoing expansion, the multi-million pound procurement will add a further 30,000 temporary grandstand seats, scaffolding and deck and truss.

Arena Seating’s UK location now has more than 120,000 temporary seats available to the marketplace. It has already delivered its services to more than 350 projects this year.

“We are delighted to have completed this deal which will consolidate our strength as the UK’s premier event seating supplier. We are focused on achieving a seamless integration of the business into Arena Seating, whilst retaining the Coventry base and thus improving our service level across the UK,” said Arena UK and Europe chief executive, Grahame Muir.

“The rapidly expanding mass participation sports division of the company also adds an exciting new dynamic to our UK offering. This year we will supply over 250 mass participation sports events to prestigious clients including Cancer Research UK, British Military Fitness and the British Heart Foundation.”

General manager of Wernick Events, Steve Shaw, added: “The whole team in Coventry feels very excited at the opportunities ahead of us thanks to the investment and significant additional resources of the Arena Group behind us. This will benefit all of our clients as we focus on improving the quality and range of equipment we can offer them.”

Last year, Arena Group struck a deal to acquire RIM Scaffolding’s event equipment, management and operational teams to expand its event infrastructure capabilities.
