LAFC unveils safe standing section at new stadium

Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), a new franchise that will join North America’s Major League Soccer (LMS) in 2018, has announced that its under-construction Banc of California Stadium will feature a safe standing area.

The section will be based around a first-of-its-kind rail seating system, designed by US-based SC Railing for comfort and safety, as well as accommodate sight lines by eliminating any obstructions.

Stadium architect Gensler Sports worked in partnership with SC Railing on the project and the overall design process took almost two years.

Fans can now place a deposit for safe standing season ticket.

LAFC lead managing owner Larry Berg said: “Our supporters have been our focus since the beginning. As we build this club from the ground up our supporters have been at the helm and we remain committed to making sure they have the best match-day experience in Major League Soccer.”

The Banc of California Stadium, which is located next to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, will have a capacity of 22,000.
