Levi’s Stadium, home of NFL American football team the San Francisco 49ers, is to undergo renovation work ahead of the 2017 season.
Central to the work will be the addition of a Ring of Honour on the west side of the stadium that will feature the names of players in the 49ers’ Hall of Fame.
The 49ers said the team has chosen to introduce the Ring of Honour as a response to fans’ requests for the stadium to feel more like home. The 49ers moved into the stadium in 2014.
Further signage will be added to celebrate the club’s history and its five Super Bowl wins.
The 68,500-capacity stadium opened in July 2014 and hosted last year’s Super Bowl.
