NFL American football franchise the Green Bay Packers has entered into a multi-year partnership with telecommunications company U.S. Cellular.
Under the deal, U.S. Cellular will now serve as the official wireless partner of the Packers and become the official sponsor of Wi-Fi at the team’s Lambeau Field home stadium.
U.S. Cellular charging stations will be placed throughout the venue to ensure fans can stay connected during the game, while the company will also benefit from a presence on video boards and in the concourses at the stadium in game days.
The company will also sponsor a future fan congregation space in the concourse at Lambeau Field, which forms part of the team’s ongoing improvement plans at the venue.
Other elements of the deal include U.S. Cellular sponsoring the Packers’ mobile application and integrating a new wayfinding feature that will help fans navigate Lambeau Field.
“We’re excited to team up with U.S. Cellular as the official wireless partner of the Green Bay Packers,” Packers president and chief executive Mark Murphy said.
“We’re looking forward to working with them to provide programs and activities that are geared toward enhancing our fans’ experiences on game day and every day at Lambeau Field.”
John Heimsch, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Wisconsin, added: “At U.S. Cellular, we are committed to the Green Bay and Wisconsin community, and we want to create a unique and fun experience for everyone who comes to Lambeau Field to see the Packers play.
“This sponsorship is an ideal fit, especially as fans continue to incorporate technology into their gameday experience.”
