Sheffield’s FlyDSA Arena has launched a new app and a public Wi-Fi system for eventgoers.
The SIVLive App went live on Saturday and is available through the App Store and Google Play. It provides guests with exclusive arena content and also includes an option to order food in advance, which will be collectable from dedicated lanes.
The app will also include launch offers, with one promotion to offer fans £20 in food and drink credit at the arena.
The FlyDSA Arena, formerly known as the Motorpoint Arena, is the home of ice hockey team the Sheffield Steelers and regularly hosts other events and shows.
The app is designed to improve the fan experience at the arena and will also allow eventgoers to browse tickets for all shows taking place at the venue. Polaroid selfie frames will also be included on the app, with images to be shareable across social media.
Additionally, the app will feature an interactive map to guide fans to concession points and other locations around the arena.
The new app coincides with the launch of a new free Wi-Fi system at the arena, which is operated by Sheffield International Venues (SIV).
SIV’s head of entertainment and events, Dom Stokes, said, according to the Sheffield Star newspaper: “There has been a significant investment into the digital media infrastructure of the venue to enhance the customer experience, whether they are a hockey fan, a gig-goer or a business delegate.
“The arena now has free public access Wi-Fi capable of coping with 13,600 fans online at the same time. A new SIVLive app will allow customers to order and pre-pay for food and drink then collect from fast-track dedicated pick-up points as well as book tickets and enter exclusive competitions.
“The venue’s concourse areas have also been upgraded with the installation of high spec digital signage that will give us the ability to live stream events taking place in the hall to the concourse audience. The catering stands have been refreshed and there is now a Steelers merchandise store stocking all the ice hockey team’s latest merchandise.”
