Uber seeks to aid Mestalla journeys after Valencia launch

US transportation network company Uber has signed its latest partnership with a sports team through a deal with Spanish LaLiga football club Valencia.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Uber will serve as Valencia’s new mobility and innovation partner, joining the companies that are collaborating with the club’s Centenary project.

Uber launched in the Spanish city in January and will seek to improve the experience for fans travelling to Valencia’s Mestalla stadium, or other venues in Spain and Europe.

The company will also have a brand presence in the stadium and will collaborate with Valencia for various activations throughout the year.

The 55,000-capacity Mestalla first opened in 1923 and fans are still awaiting news as to how the club’s long-delayed new stadium will progress. In May, Valencia agreed a partnership with professional and financial services company Deloitte as it sought to step up work on the project.
