Austin FC releases latest stadium renderings

Major League Soccer expansion franchise Austin FC has released new renderings of its planned stadium, which is due to open in time for its debut season in 2021.

In March, Austin FC’s investor-operator Precourt Sports Ventures (PSV) selected Austin Commercial as the construction manager for the team’s 20,500-seat soccer park and stadium.

Gensler was also named as the lead architect, with CAA Icon to serve as the project manager and representative for PSV. New renderings have now been released ahead of the stadium’s slated groundbreaking in mid-September.

Austin FC was announced as the 27th MLS franchise in January and the franchise will become the first major league sports team in Austin. The club claims its new stadium will offer an “incredible world-class matchday experience” in the city.

The club revealed the new renderings on its Twitter account yesterday (Monday).

PSV will privately fund the $240m (£189m/€212m) cost of the stadium and also plans on building a training facility, building and refurbishing local pitches and increasing access to football programmes.
