Unibet teams up with New Jersey Devils

Online gambling company Unibet has agreed a sponsorship deal with the New Jersey Devils NHL ice hockey franchise.

The multi-year deal will provide Unibet with significant brand exposure throughout the Devils’ Prudential Center arena. The deal has been signed after Unibet’s recent launch in New Jersey.

Unibet will also receive a presence on the Devils’ digital platforms, while its customers will benefit from unmatched experiences and hospitality. Martin Brodeur, a former goaltender for the Devils who now serves as the team’s executive vice-president of business development, has been named as a Unibet brand ambassador as part of the agreement.

Last year, Caesars Entertainment entered into a multi-year partnership with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), which operates the Devils, Prudential Center and the Philadelphia 76ers NBA team. Under the agreement, Caesars Entertainment’s new sportsbook experience was launched inside the exclusive Caesars Club at Prudential Center.

That deal came after HBSE had previously partnered with sportsbook operator William Hill to open a branded sports lounge space at Prudential Center. Sports betting was legalised in New Jersey in June 2018.

The Devils’ deal with Unibet marks the latest betting partneship signed by an NHL team. Earlier this month, the Philadelphia Flyers signed a multi-year deal with SugarHouse Casino and PlaySugarHouse.com, which will serve as the team’s official sportsbook partners. Two branded lounges will be set up at the Flyers’ Wells Fargo Center as part of the agreement.

Earlier in the year, Ted Leonsis, owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, revealed plans to house a sportsbook at Capital One Arena, home of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the Washington Wizards NBA team.
