Two restrooms at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, home of NBA basketball team the Cleveland Cavaliers, have been permanently converted into all-gender facilities as part of ongoing plans to foster an inclusive environment at the arena.
It is hoped the move will increase safe and appropriate accommodations for all visitors to the arena. The restrooms will provide comfortable and convenient access to transgender and gender non-conforming guests, as well as any guest who may require the assistance of a caregiver, parent or child of a different gender.
The restrooms will be located near Portals 29-30 on the lower Street Level concourse, adjacent to the Power Portal, and near Portals 58-59 on the FirstEnergy Loudville upper-level concourse next to the Overlook Bar.
Men’s, women’s and family restrooms can also be found on each level of Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, with all 62 private suites at the venue also having a private restroom inside.
Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse also serves as the home of American Hockey League team the Cleveland Monsters.
In other news, the NBA’s Philaldephia 76ers have partnered with goPuff, a platform for everyday needs such as cleaning and home products, over-the-counter medications, baby and pet products, food and drink.
As part of the agreement, goPuff will offer local customers a curated 76ers menu featuring stadium and local favourites each game day. The platform will also offer fans prizes, deals and more on game days.
To celebrate the launch, goPuff offered new local customers $25 off their first order for yesterday’s game against the Houston Rockets. The platform also waived the delivery fee on all Philadelphia-area orders.
GoPuff will also launch a limited edition ‘Celebrate the City’ souvenir cup series in the coming weeks, with sales to be donated to the Sixers Youth Foundation.
Katie O’Reilly, chief revenue officer for the 76ers, said: “With the pandemic changing the way fans experience home games, goPuff has the unique ability to deliver many of the products that fans have come to love right to their home, in just a few minutes. We’re excited to bring fans this special 76ers menu and look forward to future collaborations with goPuff that will enhance the fan experience throughout the season.”
