MyVenue secures Hard Rock Stadium deal, goes live at Adelaide Oval

Stadium and arena point of sale specialist MyVenue has agreed a new partnership with Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium and introduced its latest technology at the Adelaide Oval for the recent Ashes Test.

MyVenue has been named the official POS technology provider of Hard Rock Stadium and the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. The deal has been signed as the stadium prepares to stage its first Formula 1 grand prix in May.

The partnership follows a successful low-risk, low-cost pilot at Hard Rock Stadium. MyVenue will power the stadium’s food and beverage sales at upcoming major events, including Dolphins games, the grand prix, the Miami Open tennis event and outdoor concerts.

David Brooks, MyVenue chief operating officer, said: “In total, 1,375 terminals across premium, suites, and concessions will operate on MyVenue’s cloud-based POS software. This includes 650 newly deployed fixed and mobile POS devices, and a further 725 existing terminals transitioned to the MyVenue solution.”

Brooks added: “Our native offline redundancy protection, including the ‘store-and-forward’ technology, allows servers to continue making credit card sales even if power, WiFi, or gateway/acquiring networks fail.”

Meanwhile, MyVenue deployed its technology at bars, restaurants and concession stands at the Adelaide Oval during the second Ashes Test from December 16-20.

MyVenue has been a partner of the 53,000-seat Adelaide Oval for a number of years, providing a next-generation, hosted POS solution for the venue. The new deployment includes POS connectivity status, real-time performance reports and offline redundancies.

Adam Vonthethoff, chief operating officer of the Adelaide Oval, said: “The last two years have been tough for many venues and stadiums, but the MyVenue team continued to work tirelessly with us through a low-risk transition from our legacy NCR system to the new MyVenue point of sale solution.

“The Vodafone Men’s Ashes Test Cricket Match was a great workout for our new system. With around 240,000 credit card transactions and an average approval time of three seconds, we are extremely happy with the transition and excited by the MyVenue partnership.”
