Club Doncaster searches for new catering partner

The owner of English Football League club Doncaster Rovers has begun the search for a new catering partner who will operate at the Eco-Power Stadium from next year.

Club Doncaster, which incorporates Doncaster Rovers and other local sports organisations, said it is seeking expressions of interest from new providers as it enters the final year of its agreement with current partner Sodexo.

The catering provision at the 15,000-capacity Eco-Power Stadium covers the operation of matchday refreshment kiosks plus hospitality and conferencing facilities throughout the stadium across the year.

Shaun Lockwood, Club Doncaster’s chief operating officer, said: “We have opened up the bidding process for our next catering partners.

“All options are on the table for catering beyond next summer, including means by which we could bring the process in-house.

“We invite all interested parties to contact the club, and as part of the decision making process we will be consulting with the Shadow Board – made up of supporters – to ensure that fans have involvement in the decision.”

Eco-Power Stadium, which opened in 2007, is used by Doncaster Rovers, Doncaster Rugby League Club and Doncaster Rovers Belles Ladies Football Club.

The stadium also hosts other events, with Elton John and Bryan Adams among those to play there. It will also host rock band The Killers later this month.
