The Los Angeles Chargers NFL team has partnered with conversational AI company MeetKai to create new immersive experiences for fans.
As the official AI partner of the Chargers, MeetKai will work with the team to develop new in-stadium and at-home experiences, including an AI-based locker room tour.
The partnership will also provide MeetKai with logo placement on the Chargers’ home and away media backdrops. MeetKai’s technology and advanced AI is capable of processing natural conversation and personalised search results.
A.G. Spanos, president of business operations at the Chargers, said: “Having developed a reputation for being at the forefront of the sports digital media space, we’re thrilled to partner with a technology leader like MeetKai.
“As tech continues to become an increasingly integral part of the world of professional football, the opportunity to leverage MeetKai’s advanced AI to connect and engage with Chargers fans all over the world, both physically and virtually, is incredibly exciting.”
James Kaplan, MeetKai chief executive and co-founder, added: “As a Los Angeles-based company, we couldn’t be more excited to team up with our hometown Chargers to provide futuristic experiences for the team and fans everywhere. This partnership marks the beginning of a new kind of NFL fan experience that MeetKai is very happy to ignite.”
The Chargers share SoFi Stadium with the Los Angeles Rams, which recently claimed a first for the NFL after debuting a new augmented reality experience through a partnership with the ARound platform.
Debuting during the Rams’ home game against the Seattle Seahawks, the fan-focused technology experience used 3D spatial computing to localise content to individual users throughout SoFi Stadium.
