Sam Kennedy, president and chief executive of Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox, has been promoted to chief executive of the team’s parent company, Fenway Sports Group.

Kennedy will continue to lead the Red Sox but will now work more closely with the FSG leadership team on the group’s wider ownership portfolio, which also includes Premier League football club Liverpool and the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. Kennedy has been president and chief executive of the Red Sox for the past nine seasons.

Liverpool chief executive Billy Hogan has also been promoted to chief executive of FSG International.

BJK Cup Ltd, which oversees the commercial, broadcast and fan growth of the Billie Jean King Cup tennis tournament, has announced the appointments of Kerstin Lutz as chief executive and Kris Dent as chief operating officer.

Lutz (pictured right) and Dent will lead the day-to-day operations of the company, which was formed in August 2023 as a joint venture between the International Tennis Federation and the sports, media and entertainment arm of TWG Global. The BJK Cup was formerly known as the Fed Cup.

Lutz will join from Team Marketing, where she serves as managing director of business development. Dent joins from the ITF, where he was senior executive director of major events and strategic projects.

Concert promotion and artist development company AEG Presents has appointed Jay Belin as vice-president of international touring.

Belin (pictured centre) will be responsible for executing major concerts across Europe with the AEG Presents Global Touring division. He will report directly to senior vice-presidents of global touring Michael Harrison and Simon Jones, and will initially be based in AEG Presents’ New York office before moving to AEG Europe’s headquarters in London.

Belin previously worked at Live Nation and WME.

Australian ticketing company TEG Group has appointed SWXW Sydney’s head of marketing and commercial partnerships, Simon Cahill, as its head of commercial.
