League Two football club Grimsby Town has announced that Polly Bancroft will become its new chief executive following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
Bancroft (pictured) currently serves as head of women’s football at Manchester United, a role she has held since October 2022. She previously served as women’s team general manager at Brighton & Hove Albion, director of the women’s team at Nottingham Forest, and also held roles with UEFA and the FA.
At Grimsby, Bancroft will oversee all aspects of the club, including the men’s, women’s and academy teams and commercial activities. Adam Smith will continue as interim chief executive until the end of the season and will revert back to club secretary once Bancroft takes up her new position.
USA Rugby has appointed Bill Goren as its new chief executive.
Goren, who most recently served as deputy commissioner for Major League Rugby, will take up his new role on March 18. He joins USA Rugby as the country prepares to host the 2028 Olympic Games and the men’s and women’s Rugby World Cups in 2031 and 2033, respectively.
Goren has also worked in Major League Baseball, the NBA and Major League Lacrosse, and joined Major League Rugby in 2020. He will replace Ross Young as chief executive of USA Rugby.
Ottavio Mussari has been appointed as head of fan engagement at Sportian, a provider of digital transformation services.
Sportian, formerly known as LaLiga Tech, was formed by LaLiga and technology solutions firm Globant. Mussari joins Sportian from HBO Max, where he served as growth marketing director in the EMEA region.
Sebastian Kahlich has been appointed as the new commercial director of Myticket.
Kahlich previously spent four years as director of sales and marketing for Ticketmaster in Central Europe. In his new role, he will be responsible for expanding Myticket’s marketing, sales and brand partnerships.
