Engagement is the name of the game when it comes to loyal fans

Long gone are the days when sports teams could focus all of their communications around match days. Progressive sports teams are strengthening their fan engagement strategy by pushing beyond “match day” communications in search of “every day” interactions. They recognise that fan engagement is key to their overall growth and that social media is the perfect mechanism for achieving the “every day” conversions. Every fan engagement touchpoint represents an opportunity to drive value to the club in so many ways.

Professional sports marketing teams have long leveraged the power of visual media to bring fans the action on the field and they must continue to strive for new ways to engage with fans in a “noisy” space where content is key.

Teams want fans who care and share.  But if you want them to share, you must give them a reason to care. So how can you do that?

One touchpoint that is key to your fans and shows them that you care is your ticket delivery mechanism. The excitement of a fan receiving their season ticket pack can be captured, and shared, through social media and is a great way to create a “buzz” amongst your loyal fans; it can even create envy amongst rival teams fans too!

An engaged fan base is integral to the success of a club and as more and more sports teams realise the value and importance of making their fans feel special, there has never been a better time to consider effective and creative ticket packaging as a way to capture and engage with your fans. As you can see from the links above, it’s a great talking point and it really works!
