The New York Red Bulls and San Jose Earthquakes have become the latest football clubs to agree ridesharing partnerships in a bid to aid the travel plans of fans attending games.
The Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs have both partnered with on-demand transportation company Lyft ahead of the new season.
The San Francisco-based company will serve as the official rideshare partner of the Red Bulls. Under the deal there will be permanently designated Lyft pickup and drop-off zones at Red Bull Arena (pictured) for all Red Bulls home games.
Lyft will also be incorporated into the club’s loyalty program for all Red Members and featured on the transportation hub of the team’s website.
Lyft will serve as the official rideshare of the Earthquakes. All new users will be able to get $10 (£7/€8) off their first ride to or from the Lyft Zone, located across from Avaya Stadium.
Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
