Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, is set for a number of technologically-focused upgrades as part of plans to enhance the experience for supporters of the Major League Baseball team.

The Twins have partnered with Dimensional Innovations to unveil designs for the enhancements, which include an updated Minnie & Paul celebration sign with the words ‘Win! Twins!’ rising above centrefield. The sign has been a hallmark of Target Field since the stadium opened in 2010.

The team’s ‘TC’ mark will also be encased in a revolving, illuminated baseball medallion sitting on top of the rightfield tower. The two elements will feature design and technology that is unique to the Twins and Target Field, with plans to put them in place over the next two months.

It is hoped the upgrades will engage Twins fans during important moments and following home wins. The lighting will be customisable, granting the ability to be illuminated in colours beyond the team’s palette in celebration of special moments and events.

Dimensional Innovations, an experience design, technology and fabrication firm based in Kansas City, has created both elements. The new celebration sign features a total of 155 LEDs, while the revolving ‘TC’ sign will incorporate 60 programmable RBGW LED nodes.

Twins president and chief executive Dave St. Peter said: “We are incredibly excited to further enhance the fan experience at our ballpark through these creative, interactive and signature elements.

“The Minnie & Paul celebration sign has been enhanced with an updated design and exciting new features, while the baseball medallion serves as a beacon for Target Field, the city of Minneapolis and Twins fans everywhere. Our sincere thanks to our partners at Dimensional Innovations, whose expertise brought our vision to life in a truly breathtaking fashion.”
