Crowd gaming company Piing has partnered with Major League Soccer (MLS) side Charlotte FC, marking its first foray into the competition.

It will see fans at the Bank of America Stadium able to play the Piing Pen-Kick game during half-time at home fixtures throughout the season.

“This agreement proves yet again that Piing is the perfect solution to downtime at big events, filling those quiet moments with fun and excitement that brings people together in shared moments,” said Piing chief executive Gareth Langley.

“We look forward to giving fans at Charlotte FC even more to shout about and making their match day experience extra memorable!”

The Premier League has entered into a four-year partnership with virtual reality software developer Rezzil.

The Manchester-based firm produces sports gaming software for athlete training and game analysis within virtual reality.

Rezzil’s software allows clubs to re-create match scenarios and replay them through a VR headset. It also has applications for broadcasters and the wider gaming market who can use match data to bring viewers closer to the action on the pitch.

Daktronics has partnered with the University of Colorado to design, manufacture, and install six LED displays at Folsom Field in Boulder.

The displays total 8,800 square feet and are set to be installed prior to the beginning of the Buffaloes’ 2024 season on August 31.

The main south end zone display will measure nearly 40 feet high by 116.5 feet wide for a total of more than 4,600 square feet and will feature 10mm pixel spacing.

“The new state-of-the-art video display boards on the south end of Folsom Field promises to greatly enhance fan experience both inside and outside the stadium for not only football games but all stadium events,” said University of Colorado athletic director Rick George.

“It also creates a number of new sponsorship opportunities while further establishing Folsom Field as one of the premier venues in all of sports.”

ASM Global and Boldyn Networks have expanded their partnership to provide 5G, upgraded Wi-Fi, and private networks at their properties.

Boldyn and ASM Global have already collaborated on venues around the world, such as Puerto Rico’s Coliséo de Puerto Rico, the UK’s First Direct Arena, and Italy’s Cantu Arena.
