NFL American football team the Houston Texans is set to offer a chatbot service for fans at NRG Stadium through a partnership with Satisfi Labs, an artificial intelligence solutions company.
According to the Houston Business Journal newspaper, the chatbot will allow fans to ask questions relating to game-day services such as concessions and parking. The service will be launched for the 2018 NFL season.
The service will be available on the Texans’ mobile app and website, and is designed to enhance the fan experience at NRG Stadium.
“Our mantra is to create raving fans,” Texans president Jamey Rootes said, according to the Business Journal. “Most of that is done through human interaction … But if we can use technology to go to a new level, then we want to go and do that.”
The newspaper reports that the Texans also have hopes to introduce a text messaging service next season. The service will respond to supporter queries over text and will be available to club level fans.
On the AI service, Satisfi Labs chief executive and co-founder Don White said: “The unique AI chatbot we’ve developed with the Houston Texans will provide an enhanced level of customer service to all of their fans. If you’re in the end zone or in a suite, the bot will be able to provide fast and accurate responses to questions based on the user’s location.
