Belgian Pro League football club RSC Anderlecht has extended its stadium naming rights deal with Nationale Loterij.

The country’s national lottery operator first partnered with Anderlecht in 2018, before taking on the stadium naming rights in July 2019. Terms of the extension were not disclosed, but the original deal was due to run for at least five years.

Now known as Lotto Park, the original agreement marked the first time a naming-rights partner had been recruited for the Brussels stadium since it was rebuilt in 1983. Previously the venue was known as the Constant Vanden Stock Stadion after the club’s president, who died in 2008.

Nationale Loterij has organised numerous initiatives for Anderlecht supporters, including the ‘RSCA Fanatico’ competition. In addition, the company puts on various challenges for fans in the stadium with the winners being granted experiences with the players.

Anderlecht’s non-sports CEO, Kenneth Bornauw, said: “Lotto Park has become a household name for everyone in recent years, a brand name that stands for the passion and experience of supporters. It is a pleasure to see that the Nationale Loterij supports us in our ambitions and therefore expresses its confidence in the future of our club.”

Nationale Loterij managing director, Jannie Haek, added: “It can be called exceptional that the name ‘Lotto Park’ has settled in the collective memory of the Anderlecht fan and by extension of all football fans in a very short time.

“The naming of various arenas, stadiums and other locations is inherent to the strategy of the Nationale Loterij to be as close as possible to Belgians every day.”
