UK sports technology and marketing company Eleven Sports Media has made its first move into mainland Europe by agreeing a partnership with Dutch Eredivisie football club PSV Eindhoven.
Through the deal, Eleven will launch an all-inclusive partner programme dedicated to the local business community of Eindhoven, while PSV will become the first mainland European team to benefit from the company’s fan engagement technology.
Philips Stadion will be the inaugural mainland European venue to feature Eleven’s StadiumTV and StatTV fan engagement platforms, which have been purpose built to enhance the matchday experience.
PSV supporters in the fan and hospitality areas of the stadium will be provided with a more immersive and informative matchday experience, with a variety of match and player statistics delivered in their native language.
Deep-rooted in the English Premier League and more recently breaking into the US with numerous NFL and MLS teams, Eleven’s partnership model grants small to medium sized businesses the opportunity to align themselves with their local sports teams, through a blend of branding, experiential and activation services.
Frans Janssen, PSV commercial director, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be the first mainland European club to partner with Eleven, and to see their passion come alive in the Netherlands, connecting the people of the region to the club that we are so proud of.
“The entertainment that Eleven will bring to the fan areas will be something new and innovative for our ticket holders.”
Matt Cairns, founder and CEO of Eleven Sports Media, added: “We are thrilled to bring Eleven’s localised partnership model to PSV, our first step into mainland Europe.
“Our solution has proven successful in leagues around the world, and we know that it can deliver true value to local businesses in Eindhoven. PSV is the perfect fit for us, both Eleven and PSV share many of the same values, and like Eindhoven, Eleven is a pioneer in innovation.
“When entering a new market, it is vital that our technology is accessible to all fans. Recent system upgrades mean that we can now deliver our fan engagement platforms in multiple languages, providing fans around the world with the best possible matchday experience.”
In addition to the Local Business Partner Programme and Eleven’s fan engagement technology, the company will also support Jong PSV, as the official training wear partner of the club’s U23 team.
Janssen said: “The ambition is to see this partnership grow. This is a long-term relationship, and we can’t wait to see the Local Business Programme and Eleven’s technology delivering to our fan base and local community.”
Eleven last month entered the NFL by agreeing a partnership with the Carolina Panthers. This included the launch of the Local Business Programme, while Bank of America Stadium became the inaugural NFL venue to feature Eleven’s fan engagement technology.
